First of all, HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVE!!! How are you going to celebrate Halloween this year? For me, I visited this place which has a Halloween Menu... This place is called BrusselsSprouts Belgian Beer + Mussels. Here's a peek at their Halloween Menu. ^^
Pretty awesome and gruesome name huh. Haha... While we were deciding on what to order, I was distracted by the decoration. To keep up with the Halloween theme, you can find cobwebs and spiders around BrusselsSprouts.
Also their waiters and waitresses are dressed up for the said theme. Pretty scary eh...
Ok ok, now for our choices of food. Ordered mainly from the Halloween Menu =D
Slimy Eye Ball (S$18)
Stella Artois, Bluberry Puree
They have included Bluberry Puree into Stella Artois Lager (Beer), to make it look like Eye Balls. Wait for a couple of minutes for Puree to float up then savour the Beer. Loved it =D
Grave Digger Cauldron (Starter Size S$18.50)
Mussels, Spicy Tomato Sauce, Gnocchis and Paprika
There are about 10 to 12 Mussels. But beware, as the name suggest, Grave Digger, this is a very very spicy mixed. It's nice but a little too spicy for me. If you sweat easily, then make sure you drink lotsa water. Wonderful if you are having it in rainy weather. Show you a picture of how spicy it is.... *pant*
Roasted Cod Fillet with Tomato Braised Mussels and Devel beer Sabayon (S$30)
This is not from the Halloween Menu. But it's delicious. Personally I like the tomato Mussels.
Devilish Finger (S$32)
Grilled Lamb Tenderloin, Squid Ink Mashed Potato and Stir-Fried Spinach
Ah ha! Scared? Haha... This is probably the scariest looking dish tonight. When I first cut into the "finger" my heart palpitate nervously. Being trigger-happy, by the time I bite into the Lamb tenderloin, it's not that warm already. Despite the colour, I loved the Squid Ink Mashed Potato (never eaten it before)! It is totally awesome.
Corpse Bride (S$14)
White Chocolate Souffle served with Raspberry Coulis
This is really nice. You have to eat both the White Chocolate Souffle and the Raspberry Coulis together. If not, the White Chocolate is too sweet and the Raspberry is too sour. What I like about this is that, this pastry is served hot. So don't scald your tougue =P
Overall Verdict?
- Service: Despite their scary attire, the service rendered is very good. Haha... in fact they are too polite =D But no complains!
- Haha... I will probably be back after the Halloween theme is over.
