[Foodie] Sante Fe @ Stewords Riverboat

Good Morning Readers!!!

Tired of always having to eat on land? Not able to have dinner on a cruise? Well, I'm going to introduce a rather interesting place to all of you. *Drum Rolls* Sante Fe on board Stewords Riverboat!!! A place where you dine on a Boat! Sounds awesome right =) The place is quite deserted. Without a car, it may deem a little troublesome to go. So yeah, we were there by car.....

We decided to go on a Thursday because on that day, it's Ladies Night!!! Yeah! Here's the promotion leaflet which I got it from their website (website address stated right below this post).

They even got a singer to serenade the diners. Not so bad right!

After a while, we decided on the food! *Hungry hungry*

Free Drink & Cookies for the Ladies

Cookies & Cream Thick Milkshakes (S$6.90)

Rio Grande Grilled Salmon (S$10nett) - For Ladies Only
Fillet of Salmon ladled over with Rio Grande spicy cream sauce. Served with mashed potato & grilled vegetables.

Catch-O-The-Day Pasta (S$29.90)
Tiger Prawns, Mussels, Scallops, and Squid flambed in white wine and braised n marinara sauce, served over a bed of spaghetti & sauteed onions sizzling on a skillet.

Waffle Sundae (S$6.90)
Waffle with a scoop of ice cream, a matching sauce, whipped cream & a cherry.

Overall Verdict?
- Service: They are attentive. Not bad! There's even a waiter who will open the door for you. And once you are sitted, here comes the free drink & cookie for the ladies.
- Food: I was rather disappointed with the Rio Grande Grill Salmon, there was a bone in the salmon =( The food were only average. But yeah, I loved the waffle sundaes.
- If you are prone to having seasick, this may not be an ideal place for you to have dinner, as the sea may get a little rough at times.

[Travel] JB - Nando's Chickenland (M) @ City Square

Good Day Readers!!!

I was quite skeptical about entering Malaysia, Johor Bahru (JB) ever since they introduced the Biometric Data for foreigners which started on 1 June 2011 whereby foreigners have to scan both their right and left index fingers upon entering and exiting JB. These caused massive jams during the first few weeks it was implemented, and hence my procrastination about visiting JB until today. (I wanted to visit JB in June)

Entering JB at around 3pm+ was a breeze. There were no queue and within minutes, we were on our way walking towards City Square.

One of the purpose of my visit this time was to try their Nando's Chickenland (M) which was located in City Square. (Yeah! If you have read my Malacca's post, my first visit to Nando's was in Malacca, and was craving for Nando's ever since) I was well aware of the episode involving Joanne Peh and Nando's Singapore Tanglin Mall outlet happening last month. From the news, apparently the service rendered was terrible and when Joanne and her beau left the restaurant after 30 minutes when their food were not even served, the staffs clap and cheer. I won't want that to happen to me, so for now, it's a big NO-NO to any of the Singapore outlet, which was a huge disappointment. (Maybe in future if I heard better review, I may consider)

Ok, without further ado, it's pictures time =D

Crimson Cola (RM7.50) & Madeira Red (RM7.50)
Crimson Cola: Infused with sweet and punchy pomogranate that enhance Coca-Cola's caramel notes and garnished with pop-in-your-mouth pomegranate pips, this is a fun new twist on an old favourite.
Madeira Red: A sweet, fizzy, pomegranate lemonade made with Sprite and finished with a deliciously sugary rim. Sweet and simple, everyone will love it.

Espetada (RM29.90) & Espetada Rustica (RM30.90)
Espetada: You need to see it to believe it! Tender pieces of marinated chicken thighs and fresh peppers, flame-grilled and served on a skewer, with your choice of 2 sidelines
Espetada Rustica: Tender marinated chicken thighs with sun-dried tomatoes and red onions, flame-grilled and served on a skewer, with your choice of 2 sidelines

How to order the Espetada?
Simple. After selecting whether you want the Espetada or the Espetada Rustica, select your Peri-o-meter. Let me warn you though, that the Hot and Extra Hot Peri Peri are really very hot. I have choosen the Mild Peri Peri.
After you have choose your Peri-o-meter, the next step is to choose your sidelines! Simple isn't it?

Overall Experience in Nando's?
- Service: The waitresses did attempt to smile at us. And food were served within minutes, faster than we expected it to be.
- Food: Delicious. Don't look down on the size, it was very filling. I was unable to finish my sidelines =(
- Yeah, I will probably visit Nando's in JB. At least, it's cheap and the service is not bad.

After finishing our dinner and our errands, it's time to travel back to Singapore. Well, there were long queues at the Custom. It took about 30 minutes to clear the JB Custom... and back to home-sweet-home, Singapore!

Cheers **

[Foodie] Ricciotti Pizza Pasta & Deli @ The Riverwalk

Feel like having Italian food? Pasta? Pizza? Here is one awesome place I have to recommend!!! Ricciotti Pizza Pasta & Deli. If you want to enjoy the sun, you may sit out in the open, if not there's always the air-conditioned area to cater to the ones who want to avoid the sun =P

There are a wide variety of choices such as Salad, Brushetta (served on grilled ciabatta bread), Soup, Panini, Pasta, Pizza, and not forgetting my favourite... Suppli (S$11.80)
Rice balls stuffed with beef ragu and mozzarella cheese

Spaghetti Marinara (S$23.50)
Spaghetti with Calamari, Clams, Sea Scallops, Prawns, Cherry Tomatoes in light tomato sauce

Chicken Chop Set (S$7)

- Food: For the price of S$8.25 (including GST), I thought it wasn't that bad

I chanced upon this awesome place when I was around Punggol! A hidden find in Marina Country Club, Punggol called Channel Sam Restaurant. Why awesome? Because that very day, I have the urge to sit in the open-air and chilled out. And bingo, found the perfect place to do so.

Reached there at around 6plus. Not many people at this Restaurant. Hence, we found a table pretty quickly. There's a wide variety of food served here. Have included some of the menus items and the food that we ordered.

Sirloin Steak (S$24)
Served with Mesclun salad & jacket potato
Choice of mushroom or black pepper sauce

Located on the first floor of Lucky Plaza is this Indonesian Restaurant called "Ayam Penyet Ria", in english it means "Smashed Fried Chicken".

How to go about ordering the food? Basically, you will have to find a table, the waitress will then pass you an order form in which you tick / indicate your food choice. Proceed to the cashier to make payment and yes, they will serve the food to your table.

Without further ado, let's see what I've ordered..

Boneless Chicken Chunks + Rice

Overall Verdict:

[Foodie] Spageddies Italian Kitchen @ Orchard Central

Hiya Readers!!!

A very good afternoon to you all. This time, I'm going to share my dinning experience at Spageddies Italian Kitchen. There are 2 locations for this eatery. One of them is located at Changi Airport Terminal 3, and the other at Orchard Central. So there I was, at the Orchard Central's branch.

In my opinion, I felt that this branch makes a good place to catch up with friends, as there were not much people around here. This was what we ordered....

Wild Mushroom Soup (S$5)

Three Meat Combo (S$18.50)
Pepperoni, ham & italian sausage

Pork Chop (S$19.50)
Grilled pork chop served with roasted red skin potatoes and italian vegetables

Fish & Chicken Combo (S$18.50)
Deep fried golden brown dory fillet and crispy chicken with our special batter, served with french fries, mixed salad and tartar sauce

Overall verdict?
- Service: Not bad. This may be due to the fact that there were not many people dinning here.
- Food: The "Wild Mushroom Soup" was indeed very bland. Had to add salt and pepper. Not sure if it's the norm now as not only this eatery serves bland soup. Liked the "Three Meat Combo", not bad. The "Pork Chop" and the "Fish & Chicken Combo" were average. Was quite disappointed with the Fish as there were some fishy taste. So we didn't finish eating the Fish. What a waste!
- Only the place is good for catching up. The main dishes were quite a disappointment. Do not think I will drop by here again.
