[Foodie] Souperlicious @ Suntec City

Hihi Readers!!!

A short post for today! Went to Souperlicious at Suntec City Mall for lunch.

There are a few combo sets to choose from. Had their Combo Set No. 1, which consist of 1 Soup / Salad + Half Pasta + 1 Ice lemon Tea or Lemonade.

Combo Set No. 1 (S$9.90)
Shroomy Mushroom Soup + Bread + Half Meatball Spaghetti + Lemonade

Overall Verdict?
- Service: It's self-service.
- Food: The Pasta sauce was a little too watery. Meatball was nice!! As for the Soup, it was a little watery for me as well.
- Overall, I found it's a little pricey. Only cash payment available here.

[Foodie] Meatworks @ Ion

Dear Readers!!!

It seems like I haven't been blogging for quite some time. Had been rather busy lately. Anyway, here's a food post =D

Went to Ion and decided to have Meatworks for lunch. Despite having lesser lunch crowd, noted that there were many "Reserved" signs placed on the tables. We were brought to a table for 2, a minute later. Here's a peek of their menu...

After a while, we have decided! Our food as follows :-

Mint Mocha (S$9) and Peanut Butter Milkshake (S$9)

MeatWorks Burger (S$18)
Canadian ribeye, barley fed, 100g, mbs 3-4, sundried tomato, mustard grained

Tri-tip Sandwich (S$16)
Diamantina, 200g, 100days grained-fed, salsa & avocado puree

Our food took a damn long time to prepare, it reach us about 25mins later. We didn't chase them. However, you are thinking of grabbing a quick lunch, you may give this place a miss.

Overall Verdict?
- Service: Sucks. The waitresses were not friendly.
- Food: The Peanut Butter Milkshake was ok. MeatWorks Burger tastes nicer than the Tri-tip Sandwich.
- Nah... I don't like it when the service sucks. Haha... hence too bad, not going to eat here again, at least not in the near future.

[Foodie] Galbiati Gourmet Deli @ The Rail Mall

Hello Readers!!!

I was surfing the internet and came across this Italian Restaurant. Wanted to try this place out, so here we are.... Galbiati Gourmet Deli is situated on the right side of the carpark, the first unit nearest to the carpark.

They served a wide variety of food. From the usual Pizza, Pasta, Salad to Sandwiches... etc... Spoiled for choice...

After a long while, we narrowed to the following food :-

Complimentary Bread

Calamari Fritti (S$16.80)
Deep fried squid served with our very own spicy tomato dip

Fettuccine alla Polpa di Granchio (S$22)
Black squid ink pasta with crab meat, tomatoes, garlic, chilli, cream

Tagliolini ai Funghi (S$18)
Homemade thin pasta tossed with sauteed mushrooms, garlic, chilli, herbs and olive oil

Vanilla & Wild Berry (S$5) and Ricotta & Raisin (S$5)

Overall Verdict?
- Service: I think the service is pretty good.
- Food: The deep fried squid is rather yummy. As for the Black Squid Ink Pasta, I tried better ones elsewhere. I find the Homemade Thin Pasta taste better. Loved the 2 desserts.
- Pretty comfortable and cozy place.

[Foodie] Suki-Ya @ Marina Square

Hihi Readers!!!

Had a sudden craving for steamboat! Decided to go to Suki-Ya at Marina Square, and eat all we can!! There wasn't any queue when we reached. Despite not being packed, the waitress made us wait outside for 10 minutes. Don't understand -.-"' If it wasn't for the craving, I would have just walked away. Finally, they brought us in. (There are a few empty tables for 2 without the reserve, why the wait?)

We were greeted with this table paper mat on "how to enjoy declicious sukiyaki".

There are 3 types of soup base and you can choose 2 of them...
  1. Shabu Shabu: Low calories and light on the palate, wafer thin slices of meat dipped into simmering chicken broth and cooked for a few seconds is popular in shabu shabu.
  2. Sukiyaki: Cooked in a sweetened soy-sauce broth, sukiyaki is a favourite of both the young and the old.
  3. Kimuchi: A mildly spicy soup made with authenti Kimchi base, spicy Miso, and various vegetable base. Please enjoy with spicy Miso sauce, hot pepper, or garlic.
We chose the Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki soup bases. Free flow of items (vegetables, mushrooms, udons... etc) at their healthy bar.

Also, included are 3 choices of meat (free flow). They are Pork (left), Chicken (center) and Beef (right).

Yay!! Time to cook the meat =D

Finally, time for dessert, also included!!! Yippee... One serving per pax!

Do note that you can only eat here for 1 hour 40 minutes. The cost of the steamboat as follows :-

Overall Verdict?
- Service: Not very good. Do note they don't serve warm or ice water. What's with some restaurant saving on warm and ice water?!?!
- Food: Out of the 3 meats, I liked the beef best! Haha, I wasn't that fond of their chicken though... Between the Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki, I prefer the former better.
- It's tasty and yummy, but they put in lots of MSG and hence after dinner I was soooo thirsty. =(

[Foodie] Man Zhu Cafe @ Chinese Swimming Club

Ni Hao Readers!!!

I didn't know this place existed until one of my friend brought me here for lunch. It's called Man Zhu Cafe located in the Chinese Swimming Club. By the way, he is a member of this place =D

While flipping through the menu, saw the set menu whereby they offer either the Asia Lunch Special or the Western Set Lunch. However we didn't order the set lunches. If you are interested, here's a picture of the their set menu.

We decided on the ala carte menu where there are a wide variety of food served. Here's a glimpse of some of their food from their ala carte menu. For their full menu, do visit them!!

Hungry already? Here are some pictures of the food we ordered....

Satay (S$5.50)
½ dozen choice of marinated chicken, mutton or pork grilled to perfection. Served with cucumber, onion, ketupat & peanut sauce
Oops... We were too hungry, and thus before I could take a picture, we were happily eating already!

Local Rojak (S$4.35)
Grilled tau pok, you tiao, pineapple, cucumber, turnip & bean sprouts tossed in shrimp paste with grated peanuts

Nasi Goreng Istimewa (S$6.70)
Fried rice with sambal, shrimps, chicken meat & mixed vegetables. Served with fried egg, chicken satay, achar & papaddum

Spaghetti Bolognaise (S$7.00)
Spaghetti sauteed with braised minced beef in tomato sauce

Chendol (S$3.10)
Shaved ice with red beans, green jelly & attap seeds served in coconut milk & melaka

Overall Verdict?
- Service: Not that bad.
- Food: The satay is awesome. The meat is really tender and soft. Loved it! The Nasi Goreng Istimewa was quite spicy. If you love spicy food then this is for you. Spaghetti Bolognaise is a huge portion and nonetheless yummy, although there are better Spaghetti Bolognaise out there. And... once again, the best part! Chendol!!! It's really yummy. A must try if you are there.
- Yep, I will probably visit this place again =)
