If you are into Italian food, this is one place you definately have to try... Cacio e Pepe! Hidden away in a little corner, it used to be located in Paya Lebar, and recently moved to Chu Lin.
From the decoration of the restaurant, the owner(s) have given this place a very cozy feeling. Here's a picture of the bar counter...
But when I looked up near the entrance door, I saw this...
Yeah, did you get what I meant? It's the masks!!! Haha... To me it was rather creepy =S Do you think so? Hmm.. maybe it's looks ok to you.
Anyway, to cut short, just a peek of the food that were ordered...
Starter (Free)
Spaghetti al Nero di Seppia (S$22)
Spaghetti with seafood cooked in squid ink sauce
Chicken Pollo (S$18)
Grilled boneless chicken thigh served with mashed potatoes and peas
Calzone [Folded Pizza] (S$26)
Tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, Italian cooked ham and mushrooms
Overall Verdict?
- Service: Awesome. Very attentive! The lady who was attending to us was very friendly, stopping by to check on the customers by chatting and making small talks, which I thought was very thoughtful of her.
- Food: Actually I loved all the food! Loved the Squid Ink Spaghetti. The Chicken Pollo was fresh and the potato had a unique taste which I simply loved. ^.^ Don't you find the Folded Pizza very much like a HUGE curry puff! But I didn't really like the sauce that goes with the Pizza as it had weird taste to it. Shrug, maybe I'm not used to the taste.
- All in all, I felt that it was worth the visit. Will certainly visit again!
