[Foodie] Suki-Ya @ Marina Square

Hihi Readers!!!

Had a sudden craving for steamboat! Decided to go to Suki-Ya at Marina Square, and eat all we can!! There wasn't any queue when we reached. Despite not being packed, the waitress made us wait outside for 10 minutes. Don't understand -.-"' If it wasn't for the craving, I would have just walked away. Finally, they brought us in. (There are a few empty tables for 2 without the reserve, why the wait?)

We were greeted with this table paper mat on "how to enjoy declicious sukiyaki".

There are 3 types of soup base and you can choose 2 of them...
  1. Shabu Shabu: Low calories and light on the palate, wafer thin slices of meat dipped into simmering chicken broth and cooked for a few seconds is popular in shabu shabu.
  2. Sukiyaki: Cooked in a sweetened soy-sauce broth, sukiyaki is a favourite of both the young and the old.
  3. Kimuchi: A mildly spicy soup made with authenti Kimchi base, spicy Miso, and various vegetable base. Please enjoy with spicy Miso sauce, hot pepper, or garlic.
We chose the Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki soup bases. Free flow of items (vegetables, mushrooms, udons... etc) at their healthy bar.

Also, included are 3 choices of meat (free flow). They are Pork (left), Chicken (center) and Beef (right).

Yay!! Time to cook the meat =D

Finally, time for dessert, also included!!! Yippee... One serving per pax!

Do note that you can only eat here for 1 hour 40 minutes. The cost of the steamboat as follows :-

Overall Verdict?
- Service: Not very good. Do note they don't serve warm or ice water. What's with some restaurant saving on warm and ice water?!?!
- Food: Out of the 3 meats, I liked the beef best! Haha, I wasn't that fond of their chicken though... Between the Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki, I prefer the former better.
- It's tasty and yummy, but they put in lots of MSG and hence after dinner I was soooo thirsty. =(
