Today I will be blogging about this 1 day JB Temple Trip that I went recently. As per all the JB guided tours, the time to assemble was rather early. The bus was scheduled to depart at 6.30am. Crossing the checkpoint in the morning was a breeze.
Breakfast
We were brought to this area (88 Restoran) for breakfast.
Looking at the crowd, we decided to venture behind this "88 Restoran" where we found a stall selling "Yong Tau Hu".
Their soup base was different from that of Singapore. Maybe I wasn't used the soup, and hence I didn't like it. But it was drinkable, just wasn't nice. We were given 30 mins for breakfast
.
After breakfast, we were brought to this place to buy snacks :) Journey took about 1 hour 15 mins.
Shopping
Yoyo Native Food Products S/B
No. 45, 47, 49 & 51, Jalan Cahaya Baru 1, Taman BCB, 83700 Yong Peng, Johor, Malaysia
Temple 1
This was the first temple that we visited. After praying, there are stalls opposite the temple that sells dried noodles where you can buy and bring back to Singapore. If you are thirsty, there's also Coconut being sold at RM3 each.
Lunch
Restoran S Y
2-2A, 4-4A, 6-6A, 8-8A, Jalan Setia Jaya Utama, Taman Setia Jaya, 83000 Batu Pahat, Johor (Tel: 07-438 7686)
Finally lunch! By that time, I was quite hungry... Food was ok...
Shopping
The Summit
Shopping was a disappointment. They brought us to The Summit, where a lot of shops have been closed down or out for rent -.-"' Very limited shops.
Temple 2
The next temple they brought us was located somewhere in Batu Pahat. According to the tour guide, if you have fate with the fishes, they will let you touch their heads. And if you manage to touch their head(s), you will receive their good fortune and luck.
Oh yes, if you like huat kueh, you can buy them at this place. It's very warm!
Temple 3
This was the last temple we visited. By then, I was quite tired already. The worst part was... I was bitten by mosquitoes =(
Dinner
Dinner was at a Restoran. It was raining when we arrived. Thank Goodness there were shelters leading to the Restoran. This was our last stop for the day.
After dinner, we proceeded to the Malaysia checkpoint. There was a massive jam and it took about an hour to clear *Groans*
Overall, this trip was catered more for the elderly. So it got a little boring at times. Even the shopping was not that great. Oh well...
Tiny Pea
May I know which travel agency offer such 1 day temples tour to JB?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking to book one.
Thanks.
The one that I went with was organized by a community centre. Perhaps you may keep a lookout on those community centre to see if they organize such trips. Good luck! ;)
