Hihi Readers!!!
Good day to you all! This post will be on Malacca in which I have been there recently! *Grin* It's my second trip, having been there the first time during Chinese New Year this year.
Coach:
On my recent trip, I took a coach through WTS Travel & Tour Pte Ltd, which costs S$55 for 2 ways. The pick up point is at Hotel Grand Central to Mahkota Hotel Melaka and vice versa. The entire journey (from Hotel Grand Central to Mahkota Hotel Melaka) took about 4 hours plus.
Along the way, they will stop at Yong Peng for a 20 to 30 mins break, and you can grab a quick bite. For me, I had the following for breakfast... I didn't like the green dim sum, it had a weird taste...
Hotel:
I have stayed in the following hotels / service apartment before, here are some pictures....
Mahkota Hotel Melaka
This hotel is more of a Service Apartment. Their rooms are rather spacious, very accomodating for large families. The downside is that the apartment is rather run down. The bath tub looks quite old. Other than that, it was quite an alright stay. Wifi is chargeable at RM25 per day, which can be purchase at the Reception.
Another thing to note is that you can only check in after 2pm, and check out before 12pm. However, at 1.30pm, you may check at the Reception whether your room is ready. Late check out is strictly before 1pm.
Address: No. 16, Jalan Syed Abdul Aziz, 75000 Melaka (West Malaysia)

Hotel Puri
Compared to Mahkota Hotel Melaka, Hotel Puri is much newer. There isn't any bath tub for this hotel, but who cares? I don't use bath tub *Smile* Also, they do provide free wifi, you have to get the password from the Receptionist. I understand that one of Mediacorp Series,
Little Nonya, was film at this venue.
Address: 118 Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, 75200 Melaka, Malaysia

Places of Interests:
Jonker Walk
This is one of the popular tourist attactions. Over the weekends, from 6pm to 12 midnight, the road will be closed to vehicles. Stall owners will fill the road with stalls, and people will be walking on the road. If you are a nightlife person, this is a place you have to be on a weekend!
Food
Kedai Kopi Chung Wah
A famous Chicken Rice stall which specialist in Chicken Rice Balls. A must try item when you are there =) A meal for 2 persons, which consists of a plate of chicken breast, 10 chicken rice balls, 2 cups of barley drink costs about RM13.20. Delicious ~~
Hoe Kee Chicken Rice
Another place which sells delicious chicken rice balls. This is located beside San Shu Gong. A meal for 2 persons, which consists of a plate of chicken, 10 chicken rice balls, 1 cup of barley and 1 can of 100PLUS costs RM14.20.
So which stalls sells better chicken rice balls?
Personally, I like the chicken rice balls in
Kedai Kopi Chung Wah better, but I like the chicken and it's sauce in
Hoe Kee Chicken Rice better. Avoid
A Famosa Chicken Rice Ball and
Resaurant Famosa Chicken Rice at all cost! It's a tourist trap!
San Shu Gong
A place which sells local delicacies. In here, you can also try their famous Durian Chendol.
Jonker 88 House the Museum Cafe
A famous place which sells Nyonya food. One of their must try item is "Nyonya Asam Laksa", which costs RM4! Sinful~
Christ Church Melaka
One of Malacca's places of interests....
St. Paul Hill
To get to St. Paul Hill, you will have to climb up up uP UP!!
Menara Taming Sari
Bird-eye view of Malacca?? Well, do take this revolving tower which lasts for approximately 7 mins, revolving 3 rounds. It costs RM20 per adult. (Note: I was a little dizzy by the time I alighted)
Melaka River Cruise
Fancy a ride down the river? Try out their River Cruise!! RM10 for adult and RM5 for children.
Shopping:
Dataran Pahlawan Shopping Centre
Their megamall in Malacca, with a wide variety of clothes and other shops. They even have the factory outlet, F.O.S! For ladies, you may consider doing manicure & pedicure. It's very much cheaper as compared to Singapore. The one I did was offering a promotion - For manicure & pedicure, 2 pax for the price of 1 at only RM128! Cheap right???
Cinema
The shows are very cheap compared to Singapore cinema. One ticket costs RM10. When I was there, I watched "Something Borrowed". Yay... Singapore has not showed this movie yet =P
I was appalled when I entered the Cinema, because, there was only 8 people watching this show, and that's including us. The seats at the last few rows were rather old, and the headrest was torn and sponges can be seen.
Mahkota Parade Shopping Centre
Located just opposite
Mahkota Hotel Melaka, a note to all - the traffic from the Hotel to the Shopping Centre can be a bitch. The traffic can be very heavy at times and you will be swearing at it while attempting to cross the busy road.
Food
Nando's
A very interesting Portugal Restaurant which services Peri-Peri Chicken.
Espetada Rustica (RM27.90) & Espetada (RM27.90)
Espetada Rustica: 4 pieces of tender marinated chicken thighs skewered with sun-dried tomatoes and red onions, flame-grilled and served on a skewer, with your choice of 2 sidelines
Espetada: Tender pieces of marinated chicken thighs and fresh peppers, flame-grilled and served on a skewer with your choice of 2 sidelines
If you ordering the above main course, you get to choose 2 sideline, and decide on the Peri-O-meter (Lemon & Herb / Mild Peri-Peri / Hot Peri Peri / Extra Hot Peri-Peri). Pretty interesting!
Sibaraku
A Japanese Restaurant in which you can seat at tatami tables and enjoy their wide variety of food.
Salmon Mayo Maki (RM22)
Chuncked Salmon with mayonnaise
Fuka Hire Tyahan Don (RM15.90)
Shark Fin Fried Rice
Shabu-Shabu [Gyuniku] (RM22)
